Make a Difference Day

December 25, 2009 by admin

Hey Volunteers! This Saturday, October 24, 2009, is the 19th annual Make a Difference Day. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, the day celebrates acts of kindness resulting from a multitude of events, people and good deeds. If you haven't volunteered before, it is a great day to start! And, if you are a regular volunteer, consider going the extra mile on Saturday in your volunteering efforts. The sponsors of Make a Difference Day will contribute $10,000 to the charity of each of the 10 project winners. If you would like to be considered for an award, visit the Make a Difference Day website and download the entry form by November 16, 2009. The projects can be as big or small as you like, it is up to you! USA WEEKEND Magazine promoted this movement to their 49.2 million readers. Don't forget to purchase your Volunteer Gear t-shirt and create your Volunteer Chain beginning with your action on Saturday. The shirts are not just a fashion statement, they are an action statement! Go out, get involved and give back. The difference you can make by lending a hand to someone in need (whether they know it or not) is priceless.
